Rules for designing animals
Anyone can create a fantasy animal - can it survive, feed, grow and reproduce?
These basic rules of life will help your children design creatures with a scientific foundation.
Offer them the rules and a habitat to match their animal. Offer them a type of animal, too. Then set them working on imaginary creatures with a realistic underpinning.
